Dear
Charlotte ISACA Member:
SAVE THE
DATE!
December
15th, 2009
For
Charlotte ISACA’s Cyber-Security CPE and Social Event
Come join us
beginning at 2 p.m. for two great presentations as they discuss the analysis
and detection of cyber-security incident and how cyber-security impacts small
business. Plus earn 3 CPE credits and meet fellow chapter members!
Speaker #1 – Security in
the Real World: From Incidents to Solutions - Steven
Torre, formerly of Bank of America, and Joe
Mayer, TIAA-CREF, discuss a computer incident and the response
process to deal with it. Steve and Joe will discuss how to be prepared to
deal with a cyber security incident by walking the audience through an analysis
of events from detection to closure (and what would happen) during a generic
incident. Further, if time permits, the speakers will cover what to look
for in the audit of the incident response process.
Speaker #2
- Cyber Security for Small Business – Gary
Daemer, CEO and Founder of Infusion Points, will discuss cyber
security for small businesses. Small to Midsize Businesses have invested
time and money to bring their business to life. They buy insurance to protect
their business, put locks on the doors and install fire alarms to protect their
premises. Have they made computer security the same priority? Organizations
must be able to trust their computer security and stability, yet these critical
resources are under daily attack. What is at risk?
•
Their money
•
Their data
•
Their identity
•
Their hard earned
business reputation
A computer
failure or breach can damage a business’s reputation and add additional
unplanned cost for damages and recovery. The small business owner who
recognizes the threat of computer crime and takes steps to deter inappropriate
activities, is less likely to become a victim.
In this talk,
Gary will discuss the following ongoing efforts of Cyber Security for Small
Business:
•
Increasing the
awareness of this lurking threat to small to midsize business livelihood
•
Our outreach
program to Government agencies, banks and the vendor communities
•
Establishing an
aggregation information portal
•
How can you
participate.
We hope you
can join us for this event! More details to follow. Check out www.charlotteisaca.org for more event
information.
